Emphasized Throughline Issue/Counterpoint

Confirm or correct my hunch.

It’s said that the OS Issue v. Counterpoint is what feels closest to a story’s “theme.” My hunch is that is because the OS throughline commonly is the throughline that receives the most emphasis in a story.

If, for example, you have a romance story in which the RS throughline gets the most emphasis, does the RS Issue v. Counterpoint then feel closest to the story’s “theme?”

Thanks

Yes you’re in the right track.

Truth be told, the entire storyform is your story’s “theme.”

But you can emphasize any part you find most interesting.
