I think the first question to ask yourself is whether or not the OS really changes.

Also, if you have a Steadfast Be-er and then a change Do-er (who becomes a be-er) that could be a steadfast be-er who experiments with being a do-er in the middle. That’s fine.

You should look into Life is Beautiful. That might be two stories glued together, but I don’t know.

Does it have more backstory than Iron Man, or is it more pronounced or anything?

Not sure the comparison, but Iron Man is another great example of backstory working as a separate storyform.
