Forrest’s Main Character Issue is Wisdom (“Stupid is, as stupid does”). His Focus is Theory (“Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates”), and his Direction is Hunch (strapping on shoes to run, starting a shrimp boating co.).

His Crucial Element in the narrative is Hunch, Dan and Jenny are Theory (each has a construct of how life works out).

Forrest’s success argues running with your intuition.
