# Overwhelming Odds

I did a Google search and a site search before posting, but I can’t seem to find much on it. How does one set out to build a story with overwhelming odds? I assume essence is like nature in the sense that it is derived from other settings, but I can’t find which settings it is derived from or how.

Make sure you set the Story Prerequisites to the Preconscious. That should do it.

Overwhelming odds implies a high degree of imbalance between the difficulty of achieving the story goal and the ability (or lack thereof) to achieve it.
