Our next Dramatica Users Group meeting is **Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 7:00–9:30 PM Pacific**.
We’ll take a fresh, scene-by-scene walk through _It Was Just an Accident_, then dig into the Objective Story structure, character dynamics, and audience implications together.

The recording of last night’s Users Group analysis of _It Was Just an Accident_ is now available to watch and follow along with!
We work through the four Throughlines, test our choices in the Storyform Builder and Theme Browser, and dig into certainty, revenge, and why resolving the Story Goal can still leave personal anguish unresolved. The video includes chapter timecodes if you’d like to revisit a particular part of the discussion.

During the meeting, we had trouble identifying the Benchmarks - especially when it seemed like everything was in the Past or Present. I tried to avoid it because I always find them kind of _squishy_, meaning they can be elusive and hard to find in narrative structure
but apparently Narrova has no problem!
While getting the Storyform ready for [dramatica.com](http://dramatica.com) I had it look for evidence of Benchmarks across all four throughlines in the original screenplay. It came back with WAY MORE proof than i every possibly remember.
Remember that you can always have Narrova take a look at your work and measure it against the Storyform to see what is working and might need improvement.
I particularly liked how it pointed out Eghbal’s shifting identity as part of the benchmark which is a _really smart_ take on everything that I’m not even sure experienced Dramatica experts would pick up on.
