Story Assembly -- Putting it all to work

I am trying to figure out how “Relationship CONCERN: Working Out a Plan for Urban Development" could work. Is it something that the two would have to be concerned with from the onset of the Relationship Throughline?
In the next decade Fleischer Studios actually built a studio campus outside of Miami, FL.
Could this be the Urban Development MaryBeth and Sebastian are concerned with? Could Max Fleischer give them this assignment in RS Act 3 and Transform the relationship? Or maybe early on a giddy Max shares his secret plans to build a Fleischer Studio City in Miami with them randomly and they both see the development of this Studio City as a way to “Control a Particular Groups Thoughts” (but the conflict is they don’t agree how—(see RS Domain))???

Remember this is supposed to be a Romantic Comedy, so there Relationship is a romantic one.I would probably try and find a way to fold it into Sebastian’s Atlantis “animation” project. Arguing over where streets should go and what should be animated, in an effort to control the thoughts of either the studio heads or people in the streets. Though really, it should be about them controlling each other’s thoughts…

Either way I would make it that they have to work together on planning something that gives them plenty of opportunity to go at it with each other (and eventually fall in love)

RELATIONSHIP CONCERN: Working Out a Plan for Urban Development-
The 3D diorama of Atlantis grows into a major project for Marybeth and Sebastian. It constantly forces them to work together. Sebastian becomes far too particular, creating details in the urban development of the Atlantis model that will never be seen. Marybeth constantly is working to keep him on track. This project is very important to the two of them. The Atlantis animation will feature Marybeth’s drawings and Sebastian’s subliminal ideas of how Atlantis foretells the current societies doom unless it decides to change.

I’ll add that working out an ‘urban development’ plan of this Atlantis animation will mean great things for their relationship and their reluctant romance.

Nice work! I’ve added it to the main, and now it is @keypayton’s turn …

My best take on OS Signpost 4, “Practicing Cognitive Learning” (assuming I understand what that means):

Everything’s pulling together in the frantic race to meet the shortened deadline on Fleischer Studios next big animated feature!

So to help the male animators finish on time, the women on the Fleischer staff learn more tricks of the animator’s trade and how to “work smarter, not harder.” And the male animators (and their bosses) learn that women can handle the work of an animator, that the women help “flesh out” the female characters better, and that “these ladies aren’t actually that bad to work alongside!”

Also, the doom-preaching types learn that inspiration and hope can come from laughter-causing cartoons as much as from screams of outraged protest, and that cooperation might just trump conflict.

SHORT FORM: Men and women, workers and unemployed, capitalist bosses and pro-worker forces — all practice cognitive learning in positive ways that bring peace and prosperity (at least for our characters, for a time).

SIGNPOST 3: Winning Someone’s Love

In an attempt to draw more attention to the studio and potentially bring in more revenue, Fleischer considers a contest where a winning young woman has a date with the most eligible bachelor in the studio. Tensions rise as the male staff attempts to determine who truly is the most eligible. The support staff (and even the elevator operator) takes offense to being left out as possible candidates.

Feel free to sink you talons into this one… (Do the chickens have large talons?)

bump. @jhull have you added Writegeist’s signpost? Are we ready to move on?

My apologies for the long delay - overwhelmed with work throughout January. Here’s my take on the end of MaryBeth’s throughline:

SIGNPOST 4: Brooding

  • Overwhelmed with anxiety, MaryBeth allows her gloomy prognostications to take over her every conversation. Seeing her as a darkly brooding and unhappy person, the men in the office begin to see MaryBeth as a potential executive. They set her up in the corner office on the 101st floor–the place where every deeply unhappy person works.

That means me now, yes? Okay how about…

SIGNPOST3: Being Transformed by Someone

  • Marybeth and Sebastian are confronted by Itai Furaha who tells them they are both stupid and that Marybeth belongs at home making Sebastian’s dinner and that Sebastian belongs in the lines of the worthless unemployed. They both need to learn their place and to quite messing with the status quo. The two join ranks and solidify their loyalty and the love for each other and they need to stop all their senseless bickering. The best way for them to be successful is to help the other be the best that they can and to support their dreams. Marybeth changes the drawing of her antagonist to a caricature of Itai and Sebastian adjusts the story to have that character getting all the guff. Reminding them both they have the power to change their immediate world.

Is it my turn? (I have to do 20 characters to post)

Is it better to ask for permission or forgiveness?

I lost my list of the posting sequence, too fast with the delete button, I guess. Am I after Jassnip? I’ll work on something and post within a few days.

The sequence list is at Note 35, and, yes, Prish, you are next on the list… And I am now asking Jim for forgiveness for jumping in.

SIGNPOST 4: Grasping the Meaning of an Idea

Marybeth is starting to gripe about not being happy, even though promoted. Sebastian sees himself as Marybeth’s ray of sunshine. She always laughed through his dilemma dramas. Sebastian is starting to realize that that Marybeth will never be happy, unless he is with her on the 110th floor to keep her spirits up, so her griping about how he should become more ambitious and organized is making more sense. He takes the job offer of background director and says goodbye to his errand days.

What’s the verdict? Does this work. ok? Or, should I change things?

@jhull has been super busy. This is great for him but require patience for us. Hopefully he’ll get around to us soon.

This is for me but I thought if I needed it others might as well.
(You all make this a lot of fun. I know it has kind of lost it’s momentum but I am learning a lot. I hope we fill in every blank.)

I dropped out in September due to my Dad’s rapidly deteriorating health. Now I’m spending all my time driving across states to take care of his estate and things at home. So not participating any more, but following along closely.
