What kind of Problem would cover the desire for novelty vs. familiarity?

  1. MC accidentally totaled IC’s vehicle and IC wants him to get and keep a job to help pay the debt, so that means trying to help MC get over fears that keep him from holding one down. Does that count as Situation or is that bleeding over too much into the MC throughline?

  2. I thought something like gathering support for a charity would be the result of changing an Oppose attitude rather than the Solution, unless maybe the teen is forced into it, but along the way of gathering support, meets some nice people and that is what changes his mind.

  1. Definitely sounds like it could be a Situation. Cool!

  2. Sure, if the Solution is Support it can be anything to do with Support, even withholding Support. As with any story point, you still have to make it fit your story and characters. I like your example, the teen is forced into something (and not happy about it), but then the people he meets end up supporting him or needing his support and that helps him change his mind.

Thanks for the help. I like my story form better now.
