I’ve found that Dramatica and Snowflake Method can complement each other. Open the StoryGuide for Dramatica, in the GettingStarted phase, StoryLogline corresponds to the first step of the Snowflake Method, PlotSynopsis corresponds to the second step of the Snowflake Method, and Character corresponds to the third step of the Snowflake Method.

I’m an expert in Truby theory as well as Jack Bickham and Dwight Swain, everyone has some valuable stuff to say. Dramatica’s contribution is different: generating a walk through of the structure by answering questions. Pretty brilliant. If you have’t read the Scientific American article, y’oughta.
