Of course, the main plot MC may be watching the subplot MC and noticing if his solution works or not, and may alter her course depending on what she perceives about the subplot MC’s success or failure (and whether either was good or bad) - in other words the MC may be a viewer (as hamlet story within story) and pass judgment on the subplot MC solution
