Most fascinating for me - they came up with the beats because they felt right, then figured out where it was going and wrote it that way. The style was more – “where would Kira be twenty years from now – well, she’d be a Vedek and DS9 would be a religious shrine for The Sisko. But what would that mean…”
The “what would that mean” is where they grew the rest of the story points from. Like I said, great watching professional writers at work.
The doc is mostly about the WRITING of DS9, even with all the actors checking in and the beautiful new HD footage.
