Join us this Tuesday (7pm pacific) for the Dramatic Users Group, featuring a special analysis of Wicked led by Chris Huntley and hosted by me. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or brand new to dramatic storytelling, it’s a great chance to dive deeper into narrative structure and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
Last night we had a fantastic analysis session digging into the narrative structure of “Wicked” (Part One). We got pretty close to identifying a storyform that matched what we saw on-screen, but we hit a couple of intriguing challenges right near the finish line:
Specifically, we found ourselves debating two key points:
Problem-Solving Style: Is the story leaning more toward a Linear or Holistic approach?
Story Outcome: Did the first film conclude with a narrative Success or a Failure?
We’d love to open up this conversation and hear your perspectives—especially from those who couldn’t join us last night. How do you see the problem-solving style in “Wicked”? And based on the ending, would you call it a Success or Failure?
