Announcing: Dramatica Mentor Service

Self-promotion warning, but hey–I’m paying for this site, so I’m allowed!

With the success of my Story Consulting service over the past year, I’ve decided to offer a more “hands-on” approach for those who need help navigating their way through the software. Think of it as an accelerated support desk with a bent towards understanding the theory and using it to write great stories. If you’re interested in getting a 20-year jump start on understanding all this stuff (yes, 2015 is my 20th year working with Dramatica!) then by all means contact me and we’ll get started.

I’ve worked with professional screenwriters and accomplished directors and I’m now consulting for a new show for Disney Television Animation. So whether you’re writing for television or features I have experience in both (though savvy Dramatica-ites will know that the medium doesn’t matter … ). My own personal writing is about to take a giant turn for the best, so yes, I am a writer and I do have experience actually putting all this stuff into practice.

Here’s the blurb from my site:

Would you rather hire a guide to help you through the dark and uncharted waters of Dramatica? The Dramatica Mentor service provides a hands-on approach to this revolutionary, yet sometimes complex, theory of story. Available by the hour, we will walk you through the program and answer any questions you may have. (Note: Requires a one-time download of Screenhero to enable screen-sharing.)

Of course, if you’re looking for something more intense then be sure to read about my Dramatica Guru service. You can read all about both services here: http://dramatica.guru

Sounds like a great service. Good price too for one on one mentoring.

Yes, glad you think so! Just had my first inaugural one and it went really quite well. Screenhero is a great screen-sharing program and I think it worked even better than the back-and-forth email process I have done in the past. Occasionally the “call” would drop for 5-7 seconds–more a problem with my wifi than anything else–but the sound quality is great and the ability for both to “drive” the cursor made the session productive.
