Must MC have an Driver quad element

In a stop/change/success/good story where the Protagonist is not the MC, does the MC still need a character element from the Driver Quads?

No, there’s no reason I can think of why the MC would need a Driver element in the OS. Except perhaps if the MC Crucial Element happens to fall on a Driver element.
