How did the 4th modality change from Proactive, Reactive, Passive, and Defensive to PASS

Excerpt from a @jhull article on narrative first.

Update on Sep. 29: After sleeping on it, the real answer hit me while I was running this morning: the final and fourth modality is Proactive, Reactive, Passive, and Defensive. Dramatica experts will recognize the lineage of these terms in the Proaction, Reaction, Inaction, and Protection quad under the Issue of Strategy in the Activity Domain.

“Passive” is a limited view of Inaction. If someone is beating you with a stick untill you’re broken and bleeding, ‘passive’ seems to fit less well, especially if one thinks of passive as submissive, compliant, pliant, obedient, docile, tractable, or malleable. ‘Inaction’, as a word, has less bias toward weakness or low effort.

All in all, however, passive an acceptable term in the context of the three other words.
