This is now a thing in Narrova:
You can now change different aspects of the Storyform and then Narrova will re-write anything you did previously that no longer fits into that context.
For example, for the Toy Story 5 Storyform (spoilers btw) I originally out of instinct just set Action as the Story Driver. But reading through the plot progression of the Signposts did not quite look right to me, so I wondered if maybe I had one of the Dynamics wrong (they affect the order).
The Driver has ALWAYS been a blind-spot for me for three decades, so I wasn’t surprised that I had this set wrong. The only issue was that I had already done a TON of work getting the Storyform ready for everyone. And manually updating everything was going to be a pain.
So I did some updates behind the scenes for Narrova, and now you can just ask to change something like this:
And the new Storyform will be set in place. This, in itself, is not too technically difficult to pull off - but where it really counts is re-writing all the components that were already set under a different context.
It’s not unusual to discover anew the Storyform of your story halfway through working on it - the pain has always been having to re-contextualize all the work prior. Well now, you don’t have to:
This should have been automatic, and will eventually be so - but just know that you can now do this with your own stories. ![]()
You can even follow-up to see what has been changed and go over changes that maybe you didn’t want:
Enjoy!
