Inspiration for a Short Story

You might find yourself inspired by a recent movie (or maybe one long ago) to write a character with a similar journey. You might even find that you just want to focus on the character, maybe in a short story. With Narrova you can do just that by asking for it!

I’d like to write a short story in the vein of the movie Conclave but taking the signposts of the Mc Throughline only. Please explain the MC Throughline via these signposts so I can understand what my story will focus on for this character

Narrova will respond in kind, perhaps teaching you a bit about the Main Character Throughline and their Signposts and how they play out in a complete story:

Narrova can do quite a lot so remember, the more specific you are, the more Narrova will be able to respond with just what you need:

yes plesase use the MC Signposts from that movie’s storyform to help me understand how to write a new short story following them

Hope this gives you some idea of the vast array of storytelling experiences available to you in the new platform. Enjoy!

I remember learning years ago that Dramatica theory didn’t work super well with short stories because of the lack of time to develop a full story form. Is that not the recommended theory anymore?

It’s not that it doesn’t work well, it’s more that short stories rarely give you the “space” to work out a complete story.

All short stories are, are incomplete “complete” stories (what Dramatica calls Grand Argument Stories). So, you can always slice and dice the model anyway you want (slice would be taking a single quad, like Conceptualizing, Being, Becoming, and Conceiving, dice would be taking maybe a single Throughline), and then focus on that for your story.

If you drop into Narrova and ask it about short stories, etc. it should hep you work out how to do all of this, if you want to learn more.
